crossroads

hiking
trails

directions

the
middle
of
Slovak
Paradise.
This

known
view

the
Kláštorisko
meadow
from
the
ridge
between
Kyseľ
and
Sokolia
dolina
gorges
above
the
Kyseľ
gorge.

Kláštorisko
-
the
area
of
an
old
monastery:
Since
1983
there
is
ongoing
archaeological
research,
and
later,
up
to
now,
a
partial
reconstruction
of
the
ruins
of
the
former
carthusian
monastery,
built
at
the
turn
of
the
13.
and
14.
century.
Was
there
supposedly
to
commemorate,
and
of
the
gratitude
of
the
inhabitants
of
the
Spiš
region, who is here hiding in the middle of 13. century during the invasions of the Tatars. The monastery was destroyed and fell into disrepair from the mid 16. century.

visitors
-
tourists
the
monastery
in
the
summer
regularly
comes
alive
thanks
to
the
volunteers,
mostly
students,
who
regularly
help
in
the reconstruction works in the framework of the initiative “Tree of life”.

the
beauty
that in the summer you will not see.
According
to
the
model
of
a
symbolic
cemetery
above
the
Popradské
lake
in
the
High
Tatras
is
also
here
on
the
hill,
near
the
ruins
of
the
former
chapel
dedicated
pieta
space
to
commemorate
the
victims,
which
lost
their
lifes
